Suffolk’s (UK) Telepathy are the avant-garde quartet driving cinematic metal to uncharted stratospheres in the 21st century. Their ability to synthesise progressive and breakneck riffs transcend audiences through astral planes of instrumental narrative.

Telepathy return to their second album ‘Tempest‘, reimagining two tracks, ‘Hiraeth’ and ‘The Water Divides The Tide‘, as they bring definition, depth and dimension to the record's formidable sonic landscape. ‘Tempest (Redux)’ revisits the album with a sharpened production approach, allowing its intricate interplay of guitars, rhythm and atmosphere to emerge. The two singles retain their character whilst opening up new possibilities within their arrangements.

“‘Tempest‘ has been out of print on vinyl since 2018, so we're thrilled to be bringing it back in this new special edition together with Pelagic Records.Tempest is a very special record to the band and opened many doors for us across the UKand Europe - and we know a lot of you missed out on copies the first time around. The album has been remastered by Machine (Clutch, Unpeople, Lamb of God), who workedwith us onTransmissions. We've also had the pleasure of reimagining the original artwork by Seana Reilly for this edition, which features a die-cut sleeve and new coloured vinylpressings. We didn't want to simply bring the original record back, so we completely re-recorded the Redux tracks on Side D, allowing us to revisit them with everything we've developed as a band since.” (Telepathy)

Through ‘The Water Divides The Tide ‘ Telepathy sharpen the rougher edges of the original presentation and give way to a more controlled, open sound. The guitar tones cut through with greater definition while sitting more cohesively within the broader arrangement. Pulsating bass and melodic synthesiser details expand the track's tonal palette, creating a panoramic quality that brings its different components into sharper focus. The music feels larger and more spacious, with individual elements contributing to a more unified whole.

“When we were writing and recording Tempest, this was exactly what we had in mind. In the years leading up to Transmissions we spent a lot of time in the studio experimenting with soft synths and hardware synthesis. We were reinventing what the band could be and what we could achieve sonically. As we worked on the arrangements, we realised these new versionshad unlocked the full potential of the tracks. This visualiser captures the atmosphere we had in mind when we first wrote the track. We'd always imagined “Water Divides the Tide” as the soundtrack to a sci-fi Western, somethinglike Ennio Morricone gone instrumental metal.“ (Telepathy)

On ‘Hiraeth (Redux)‘, the interplay between heaviness and atmosphere takes on a more pronounced character. A cleaner, crisper presentation gives the track a dreamier edge, with added keys and synthesiser pulses enriching the arrangement without diminishing its rock foundations. These new layers fill the spaces between the guitars, lending the composition a fuller body; when the instrumentation surges back into full force the impact is heightened in an immersive wall of sound.

“Hiraeth was the first time as a band that we experienced breaking through to a wider audience. Hiraeth paved the way for everything that's happened in the years since. Piotr took the original fluctuating tempo and mapped a new version with synths for the liveshow, and we finally had a chance to record the live outro we’ve been playing throughout the years. Since it's such a live staple, it wouldn't be complete without a live video filmed throughout the touring for Transmissions by Lidia Sakowicz, who was brave enough to get right amongst it on stage with us across Europe in 2026. We hope you enjoy this new version, and we’ll see you on the road throughout the next year.“ Telepathy

Across both singles, the defining contrast is between increased clarity and enduring physical force. ‘Tempest (Redux) ‘presents an opportunity to experience the album from a fresh perspective. The revised sound gives each element more room to breathe, creating a clearer distinction between the weight of the instrumentation and the finer details woven throughout. Guitars carry greater presence and precision, while additional synthesiser textures introduce new melodic contours, rhythmic pulses and atmospheric layers. The result is a more expansive listening experience, in which the force of the music remains intact but its underlying intricacies become more apparent.
