The word ungandiR means "immune to gand" and is an excerpt from a west Norwegian rune-stone inscription dating back to the migration-period. Some of the inscription appears to be broken off, so the end of the inscription is lost. In its present state, this proto-Scandinavian inscription reads: ek gudija ungandiR ih… and a likely translation of this would be:
I (am) the priest/priestess, immune to gand. (Gand is a harmful form of sorcery).
